RC-DARF Background
The Relief Committee for Destitute and All Refugee Families (RC-DARF) is a registered non-profit organization in the State of New York, United States of America, having obtained its certificate of operation in August 2022. The organization is dedicated to providing essential services to refugee families and immigrant communities across New York.
Before launching its initiatives in the U.S., RC-DARF has been actively operating in Afghanistan since its establishment in 2005. The extensive experience of RC-DARF AFGHANISTAN serves as a valuable asset, significantly enhancing the organization’s ability to conduct activities both within the United States and on a global scale.

RC-DARF, registered with the former Ministry of Economy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as the Relief Committee for Destitute Afghans & Returnee Families, was founded in September 2005 by Afghan woman Fouzia Hariri along with its board of directors. Active in Afghanistan until August 2021, the organization implemented numerous projects in socio-economic development, community development, agriculture, enterprise development, job initiatives, workforce development, and humanitarian assistance.
Following the significant changes in Afghanistan and the Taliban regime's takeover in August 2021, the leadership of RC-DARF evacuated to the U.S. in November 2021 and resettled in the State of New York in February 2022. Driven by the leadership's dedication to supporting needy families and refugees/immigrants in the United States and globally, RC-DARF decided to extend its services beyond Afghans, to all refugee and immigrant families.

RC-DARF is registered with various prominent organizations and entities. It obtained its DUNS number on March 12, 2010, and is listed on U.S. Grants.gov and SAM.gov. Additionally, the organization is registered with the European Commission, USAID, and several UNOCHA/CHF clusters, including FSAC, APC, and GBV SC. RC-DARF is also registered with UNHCR, UNGM, ECOSOC, and UNWFP.
RC-DARF Experience
RC-DARF has extensive experience and expertise in a variety of areas of need. They are briefly described below:
Health: From November 2005 to February 2006, RC-DARF, with the assistance of a team of volunteer doctors, initiated a complimentary mobile health clinic, generously funded by RC-DARF, to conduct a comprehensive survey of 500 families residing in the 5th district of Kabul. The primary objective was to detect and diagnose cases of Tuberculosis and Malaria among the populace. Diagnosed individuals were supported throughout their treatment journey, along with financial aid, food provisions, and transportation assistance.

Emergency Response: RC-DARF has been actively involved in a number of Emergency Response support, including: In May 2014, a landslide in Argo District, Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan, buried parts of three villages, tragically killing hundreds. In response, the RC-DARF emergency team provided clothing for women and children and food to 30 families. They also conducted a needs assessment survey, producing a report shared with donors for further assistance.

Additionally, during the 2019 COVID-19 pandemic, RC-DARF supported communities by providing COVID-19 awareness sessions for women in Paghman and Kabul’s 5th District, distributing masks, gloves, and soap to help prevent the virus's spread. They also collaborated with Community Health Workers to assist infected individuals, ensuring proper quarantine, offering palliative care advice, and referring severe cases to clinics.

Food Distribution and Cash Assistance: In January 2010, RC-DARF distributed food packages to 380 families of returnees and internally displaced people in Nimroz province, Afghanistan. This initiative was generously funded by the World Food Program (WFP).
